Universal to Remake Bong Joon-ho’s THE HOST

Will it ever end? Seems like the Americans have gotten their greedy paws on yet another foreign film that they plan to remake the shit out of. The unlucky subject this time will be the excellent Korean monster movie THE HOST, originally directed by Bong Joon-ho. According to Variety, the film will be produced by Gore Verbinski (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE RING remake) for Universal Studios and will be the debut feature film for commercial director Fredrik Bond. Mark Poirier (SMART PEOPLE) will be writing the script. Bah humbug!
