Part sexploitation and part Giallo, THE SISTER OF URSULA reaches the summit of depraved cinema, while remaining loads of sexy fun… if sexy fun’s your thing! And it serves up a murder weapon so overwhelmingly phallic (not subtly so in any way shape or form) that… well… just see this movie if you can and want.
Two gorgeous Austrian sisters, grieving from the sudden death of their father, come to vacation at a seaside Italian hotel to get away. Dagmar (Stephania D’Amario of ZOMBIE) just wants to move on and get naked (which she does, many times), while Ursula (Barbara Magnolfi of SUSPIRIA) spends her time acting perturbed and exhibiting demented anti-social behavior. This exotic setting includes the friendly hotel owner with secrets, a sultry lounge singer (who may have a secret), a drug-addicted playboy of sorts (he has a secret too… ok, so they all have secrets), a prostitute, the hotel owners’ wife and her lesbian lover. And let us not forget the creepy, voyeuristic killer whose post-coital strolls into the bedrooms of the hotel wreak havoc on its lustful inhabitants. This unseen, glove and mask-wearing, Giallo-styled psychopath enjoys “punishing” so-called “slutty” women with a giant phallus. And, oh yeah, occasionally Ursula will run around screaming, “Daddy!!!”
If this all sounds magnificently sleazy, that’s because it is! And writer/director Enzo Milioni expertly guides you through this perverted mayhem… Well, he can, if perverted mayhem is your thing! The setting is lush, the nudity is aplenty and the music score repetitive yet fun. The sordid secrets are intriguing (particularly a reveal regarding the mother of the two sisters) and the red herrings are all around. The sex is surprisingly a bit shocking in parts as are the sudden flashes of violence. The film ends on a high note, cleverly doing a 360 with the back story of the two sisters. Thems are daddy and mommy issues… that’s for sure!
