Lineup for Deadmonton Horror Film Festival 2008

Just got word about this year's lineup for the Deadmonton Horror Film Festival which will take place from October 24th until the 26th at the Metro Cinema (9828-101A Avenue) in Edmonton, Alberta (that's in Canada for those who aren't in the know).

The Wizard of Gore (2007) review

Montag the Magnificent is an illusionist who seemingly dismembers women on stage in front of large crowds of people. Once the body parts come off and the blood pours, the audience is shocked and disgusted, only to have the girl reappear without a scratch on her.

Obscure: The Aftermath review

As I mentioned before, we don't usually focus on video games here but the folks behind Obscure: The Aftermath were kind enough to pass me a copy of the game and it plays out much like a eighties slasher film, which totally seems to fit here at Oddity, so I thought I should let you all know about it.

The Descent (2006) DVD review

A friendly group of strong women spelunkers meet once a year to go, well...spelunking. Who ever wrote this film, took modern film theory in college. I'd bet money. Or, alternately, I could churn out a rather excellent essay about this film using basic feminist psychoanalysis--and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
