The Burrowers review

The idea of some unimaginable creature hunting us down is one of the scariest things I can think of. Films like TREMORS do it with a sense of humour. Films like ALIEN do it in a bleak future. But few films have done it in a time where modern contrivances were nonexistent and the world was nothing more than a few wood buildings scattered throughout the continent. Ah, the old West.

The Descent (2006) DVD review

Or, alternately, I could churn out a rather excellent essay about this film using basic feminist psychoanalysis--and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
