FRIDAY THE 13TH Uncut on DVD

After a panel discussion at Scare Fest in Kentucky where Adrienne King, Betsy Palmer, Harry Manfredini, Tom Savini, and Victor Miller spoke about the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, a representative from Paramount was heard to say, "the upcoming release of Friday the 13th on DVD would be fully restored and uncut..."

In the eighties, the horror film took on a whole new level of animosity due entirely to an assortment of successful movies that were categorized in a relatively new class. Parents and critics alike almost harmoniously detested a sub-genre of horror movies… the slasher film. Even the production companies that were financing these pictures often abandoned them after tallying their end box office receipts.

Maniac Cop

So I accidentally watched Maniac Cop, instead of Maniac -- which had been recommended to me for it's Savininess. Maniac Cop has little if nothing to do with Tom Savini, but it's an interesting (albeit cheesy 80's) little film.
