Here Is Always Somewhere Else review

At the start of this documentary, Director Rene Daalder (Massacre at Central High) seeks to find answers to the questions surrounding the bizarre life and work of Dutch conceptual artist Bas Jan Ader and the circumstances surrounding his even more bizarre death. What initially seems like a doc with a small scope, Here Is Always Somewhere Else quickly unfolds into a small epic, focusing on multiple themes ranging from European emigration to the boundaries of artistic expression.

Eyeborgs trailer

In response to terrorism, the US government sanctions the use of free-roaming robotic creatures to monitor every-day life. Initially the “Eyeborgs” discourage crime and are accepted by the general public. But a series of sinister events begin to unfold, bringing the robots’ allegiance into question. Adrian Paul plays a Homeland Security agent who begins investigating a simple crime but realizes he’s only at the tip of an ominous iceberg.

Stacy Keach Interview

Stacy Keach is a great actor. He’s been in front of the camera for well over fifty years. He’s performed in the all time highs of Shakespearean dramas as well as the lowbrow humor of Cheech and Chong. He’s worked for some of the greats, including directors John Huston and Robert Altman, as well as playwright Arthur Miller. He’s also kept his feet loosely planted in genre pictures. Three of my favorite cult films feature Stacy Keach in leading roles.
